Don’t let the gentle nature of Chamomile have you fooled about its strength. The versatility and use of this bloom is endless! Chamomile has been used to assist in the comfort of digestive pain, anxiety, headaches, menstrual cramps and generalized pain.  It is gentle enough for children and for them can act like a light sedative, calming and delivering relief to their mini, little bodies.  However, just because Chamomile is gentle doesn't mean it can't also be a very potent herbal remedy! Once I made a super strong brew and it became a deep ambery color, the taste of this tea was bitter and strong and tasted like beer. I drank one cup and felt like I had taken a medication stronger than Percocet, it was even very reminiscent of a pre-surgical medication, the kind they give you to knock out and it was lights out for me 5-10 minutes later. I still remember night sleeping super deep and hard.

An important thing to note: although Chamomile is very supportive it can trigger a reaction to those whom are allergic to the ragweed family because it is a member of that plant family.

I enjoy Chamomile for mild relaxation at 1 tablespoon for every cup of hot, steamy water and, I allow my tea to steep for no less than 30 minutes. I place my herbs in a tea infuser big enough to allow the loose leaves to swim about and release all their medicines freely.  I use a larger cotton tea bag, (larger than what you would find in a regular store bought, off the shelf tea), or a metal strainer, an unbleached tea filter or at the very least I will just strain this herbal infusion through a metal strainer strait into my mug. I increase this dosage to 2 tablespoons for every 8 ounces of water steeped for the same amount of time, 30 minutes.  Feel free to add whatever sweetener of your choice, this will not effect or degrade the medicine from this plant.  And yes, you can enjoy this iced if that's how you like your tea.  This remedy is good in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.  By the third day the potency is starting to diminish.

Enjoy!
